How do I find out if I'm eligible for Medicaid?

Pregnant moms, when did you find out the sex of your baby?

  • I have been really anxious not only to find out the sex of my baby, but also if its twins or not! (just a crazy hunch). I have medicaid and Im a little worried they may have scheduled it too early. I am supposed to have it at 18 weeks. I am 16 weeks now. With medicaid you only get one ultrasound, so this is my one and only shot to find out the sex of the baby before its born. How many of you found out the sex before 18 weeks? How many of you were not able to find out until later because you couldnt tell at around 18-20 weeks? How many ultrasounds did you have until they could tell? Im very excited. I really hope this baby cooperates so that I can plan better...you know, buy clothes, decorate...all that fun stuff. :)

  • Answer:

I am 13 weeks now and i will be finding out in about six weeks, so i will be around 19 to 20 weeks

I know this sounds crazy but I was at my 12 weeks appointment and I had an ultrasound done and the tech turns and looks at me and says " do you want to know the sex?" then I said " I thought you had to wait for 18weeks." she said " Well usually you do and I usually don't say anything with it being so early, but there is no denying that its defiantly a boy!" So who knows, you might be able to know sooner or later...usually at 18 weeks though. Turns out that doctor is still correct to this day about the sex of my baby :)

17 weeks.

I found out at 23 weeks, last Friday :) At my 18 week ultrasound they were unable to tell the sex because the baby was all curled up and sleeping.

I found out when I was 18 weeks.

i found out at 5 months

I find out Monday with this one. I'll be 17 weeks 2 days. With my son I was 20 weeks. Technology has improved a lot in the past few years. If you get the 3/d ultrasound you can find out as soon as 14 weeks. I have medicaid and this will be my 3rd ultrasound. Where I live you can have more than one ultrasound. If they can't tell what the baby is I'm sure you'll be able to have another ultrasound.

First of all they usually do an ultrasound around 17-20 weeks to check development and if the baby is in the right possition you can tell the gender. Secondly, with medicaid as with any insurance you get the number of ultra sounds that your doctor feels are medically necesary. I had blue cross with my first and had 2, I had medicaid with baby 2 and had 3 ultra sounds ( 1 for dates, 1 for development, 1 to make sure my placenta had migrated up) oh and 1 b4 delivery b/c I delivered 6 wks early and they had to make sure he was in position b4 induction. With baby 3 I had medicaid and I had one at 6 weeks b/c they thought she was ectopic, 1 at 17 weeks for development, and then 1 every friday from week 32-38 to check fluid levels and growth due to a health issue and a medication I had to be on. They were able to tell the genders at all 3 of their 17 wk. ultrasounds.

I was 16 weeks exactly when I found out I am having a son!

I was 18w 3d when I found out my daughter was a girl! The tech was right! She's now 2.5 years old! :) Good luck to you!
