Does your doctor check your fundal height at each pregnancy visit?
-
I know they don't check it for awhile until like after five months but I'm 32 weeks now and since I've been going I've had my fundal height measured about twice. This is how my appointments go: the doctor comes in asks quickly if I have any questions checks the babys heart beat and just recently she started telling me how much weight I've gained at each visit. And that's it, from the beginning I always felt we weren't going over enough and I was not getting enough information, I never liked this doctors office but its the closest to my house without having to drive all the way into the city. I don't have regular ultrasounds so I don't know why I'm not getting measured at each visit I'd really like to be sure my baby is growing at each visit. The doctor never feels my belly for babys position or anything either. Does your doctor usually do these things?

Answer:
Nobody gets "regular" ultrasounds. But at this point i can imagine your doctor will start checking the position of the baby and the fundal height. If you werent happy with your doc and you werent getting told enough i would have been asking questions or have found a new doc even in the city instead of just sitting there ignorant and in the dark. But my doctor has been checking me since i was about 32 weeks. and they didnt worry about the baby being head down until i was about 35 or 36 weeks. does your doc feel your tummy at all? my doc checks at every visit if she can feel what kind of a position the baby is in. im curious as to why i got a thumbs down lol. you dont get regular ultra sounds unless maybe your a high risk. even then. and if your not happy with your doc then do something about it. come on. big duh.

Well I wasn't getting measured until about 28 weeks. But ever since then they measure me every single time I go in. Once I was 32 weeks they have felt my stomach every time. I would ask your doctor about it. Maby they dont do it until your farther along. That sounds kind of weird though. I would ask them to measure you or ask them why they are not measuring you.
My doctor has done it at every visit since I can remember... They started feeling position and giving me weight estimates at 33 weeks. The way your visits are going is basically how mine went... This week I start getting checked but from 30 weeks to now it was pretty simple... baby's heartbeat, my weight, questions, fundal height & fetus' position.
