How can you move your myspace sections around like this?

Anterior Placenta. Multiple c-sections Accreta risk?? Chances it will move?

  • I've had 4 c-section due to large babies (9 to over 11 lbs) and the fact that my first got stuck and had to get pushed back up. I am 20 weeks along. Placenta is very low on the front wall, just missing the cervix. My biggest worry is accreta. I knew that multiple c-sections put me at risk, but the odds were still in my favor. Normally after 5 c-sections the rate jumps up. Anyway, I've heard that placentas can move as the baby grows. Baby is estimated at slightly over 15 ozs already. Do placentas move much after 20 weeks? If it doesn't move, I know that doesn't necessarily mean I will have accreta. How and when is that diagnosed?? Will ultrasound tell them this early? Had ultrasound yesterday and being sent to hospital for another one on Tues. The OB said the baby is normal. Feedback is appreciated:)

  • Answer:

I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 20 weeks. I had a follow up ultrasound to check the position at 28 weeks and it was posterior, but still low lying. By 32 weeks it was posterior but in the upper segment, so in my experience the chances of it moving are very good. Has your doctor discussed accreta risk? I'm sure they will let you know of a plan of action if the worst was to happen and the signs and symptoms to look out for. Hopefully everything works out ok. Good luck :)
