Parents in the U.S., when do your kids go back to school after summer break each year?

and what state do you live in? I live in Arkansas, and here, the school year starts around the third week of August, about the 18th or so. I'm wondering if most other states start school around that time too. I'm just doing some research on this. So when do your kids usually start the new school year and what state are you in?

i'm not a parent-- but i am in high school and I start my years on september 2nd. i live in washington state.

We're in California, and the start date varies by district, anywhere from the middle of August to the day after Labor Day. All the best.

I live in Ohio. Usually the week before Labor Day.

I'm in So Cal. My kids start the last week of August...sometimes the 1st week of September. The school year ends the 2nd week of June.

North Dakota-At the school where I live --last week of August--others in the state ,some 1st week sept..

In New York City Our kids go back the first week of September

They go back in the third or fourth week of August. Before snow days, they get out in the third or fourth week of May. I live in Iowa, they're required to go 180 days.
