Why do parents think that when their kids go to college their going to be perfect angels?

Most parents don't think that. Any person who has been to college knows that things like parties and drinking exist.

Im under no illusion that for most, college years was one of the craziest times of there lives. Certainly not a time to be a perfect angel and why would I expect them to act as such?

My parents are like that lol mainly because both my parents did online college classes and only physically went to college for the 'important' stuff. I don't know why they do that, maybe out of protection.But then again, I'm not at the 'college stage' yet so yeah.

Do you plan on working? If so, you can kiss off most weekends of fun. Edit: Well, they let you have a job at Hollister, so I REALLY don't think they are the way you are portraying them...

I was extremely responsible. My girlfriend and I were extremely responsible, and then she was my fiancee, and then she was my wife, while we were still in school (grad). Most everyone else, even close friends, had a strong party-streak. Our close friends lied about it on the phone. The others didn't even bother. My oldest cousin is just now heading off to college, and my uncle gave him the advice, "You go off and have fun, because this is the time of your life, as long as you learn something too. And don't get anyone knocked up." Yeah. Great advice. So my direct answer to your question? They probably expect that their children will act the exact same way that they did, when they were children.
