Can you bruise your ear?

Have any of you parents ever seen a bruise like this? It's on the back of my son's ear.?

It looks like a pinch mark - but I don't know how it would have happened. I'd ask my 18 mo checkup.

Does he have a babysitter, nanny, or daycare provider? My first thought is that an adult is pinching his ears. All the best.

does he pull on them? he may have took a tumble or something of the sort when you were not looking. My 5 month old recently scratched her eye. bad. and I clip her nails twice a week. looks like I bowed her right in the eye....poor thing.

I must be weird but I think it's sorta cool looking. I'd love to have a random blue spot somewhere. Anyway, since you don't know what's causing it, I can see the concern. Sucks that your best bet is to call the doctor. Does he go in for an 18 month old check up? Definately tell them.

I have 4 kids and ive never seen a bruise on their ear before especially one so dark it looks like a blood blister almost... I wouldnt be like overly concerned but i would bring it up to his doctor to see if its normal just cause Ive never in my entire life seen someones ear bruise(did he hit it or anything? Did the dog get him?)...Not even mine and i had 14 peircings in them!

It looks like a pinch, or squeez mark, My son shut (something) on his leg once and it looked like this. Being 17 months old it is hard to tell, my kids were running into everything.

Could it be that he's sleeping with a doll/toy that he presses his ear against? My son sometimes sleeps so hard on his side that his ears are bright red and sometimes purple for a few hours after. It's a stretch but it's a possibility. Other than that, no. It kind of looks like his ear was injured and I wouldn't think he'd be strong enough to leave that kind of mark if he was the one pinching his ears. I'd be asking the pediatrician for sure. Even more worrisome if it's not the result of an injury, you know?

Looks like he's got a subcutaneous pimple or blackhead that he's been picking at, pinching, squeezing, etc. You might want to have a dermatologist take a look at it anyway.
