How much should i ask for babysitting?

  • i'm 16 and a half, and have been babysitting ever since I could remember. There are 2 kids, a 1 year old boy and a very, eh, wild, 5 year old girl. They are my cousins once removed (children of my first cousin and i'm VERY close to them) and i'll be babysitting every friday after school from 3:30-6:30.. suggested 5, just so it's not too much since she's close family, but i kinda need more money and it's two younger kids that are quite the handful.. I'm watching because she got a 3rd job tutoring in the city.. suggestions?

    At least $8/hr. Any less is not worth it. I would actually quote $10/hr and if that's too high, bring it down to $9. Don't go lower than $8.

To be honest when they ask you how musch you charge just say I don't charge a certain amount then you will usually get paid more

Trust me £5 is a good wage, you wouldn't get that if you worked anywhere else at your age. I am 17 and only get £5.50 in my part time job. It soon adds up. Its £15 every Friday and £60 a month, i think that should be more that sufficient for 3 hours a week. Have fun, i used to baby sit and as long as you get them to behave it is a walk in the park.

You only babysit the kids Friday from 3:30-6:30pm? I would say about $15 a day. My sister babysit my two little girl and I pay her $60 a week but she only babysit them for 2 hours. to Sarah Fread: If you want people to pay you eighteen an hour for babysit, I don't think they will hired you. That's way too much. By the look at your comment, I don't think you should babysit.

If you need more money, you can always ask for like $3.50 per hour per kid. But if she can't pay you that much, or she is on a budget, keep it at $5 an hour.

I pay the babysitter $15/day and my son is there for either 4 or 5 hours. I'd say around $10, or maybe $200/month.
