Can my MVR be cleared?

My need to travel, but still have to be medically cleared. If cleared do you think it will be safe. (pregnant?

  • (Couldn't get any answers in the pregnancy section) If cleared medically do you think it would be safe to travel? Would you do it? Or do you think it would be too risky? I'm currently on limited activity/bed rest. Not sure which I should be on because the ER doc said bed rest and my doc said limited activity so I am doing an in between mostly bed rest just to play it safe. In 2 weeks I have a doctors appointment for a better ultrasound. I am feeling great by the way. No pain no nothing. So if indeed there is nothing wrong with me like my doc thinks and I am cleared to return to normal activity do you think it would be a good idea to travel. I'm only asking because I feel like I need to get out to my sister. I posted a question about her and how she is having some problems. Here is a link to that question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Augr.aTQmEAsJ02ymaFys1Lty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090915100540AAoZEPN Anyways The got the ultrasound results back, all they would tell her mom is that they felt the image wasn't a clear indicator of whats going on and they are sending her to a Obgyn specialist. And that is actually in 2 weeks. If something is wrong or she needs surgery or anything I would like to be able to be there for her. We have a very weird feeling about this. Hopefully everything checks out. In your opinion if I am cleared would it be too risky to travel? Would you do it? Its an 8 hour car ride or a 1 hour plane trip, depending on what the doc says I can do. I will be 20 weeks at the next ultrasound.... and if they clear me and something is up with my sis I really feel I should be there for her....she is only 15. I'm scared for her.

  • Answer:

You would be better off staying at home and taking it easy. Your sister does have her mother there to look out for her and they can keep in touch with you by phone.

I'm a high risk pregnancy [suffered 2 miscarriages in the past and am at high risk of miscarrying/preterm labor this time] I have been on and off bed rest too many times to count. Right now after my 20 week ultrasound last week I was released from bed rest but not allowed to go back to work. I do normal activities, and to be honest I still did occasional things when I needed to I just took everything lighter and took more breaks when running errands. I think if you really want to be there for your sister you should go. I would chose the airplane so you don't have the stress of driving and having to break every hour to pee LOL. Plus if anything goes wrong, you could always go to a nearby hospital and get checked out.
