• Which part time job should I do? I am a 16 year old junior in high school, currently I work in a mexican take out food place 3 times a week. I got a job as a student clerk for a health department which is 5 days a week. My parents say I can only pick one job. Health Department: 8.50 per hour 5 days a week 2:30pm to 4:30pm or 5pm 10 plus hours a week Monday- Friday (I get out of school at 2:25pm) Mexican take out place : 9 hours a week 5pm to 8pm tuesdays, thursdays and fridays 8 dollars an hour. I can do my homework there I don't know which job to pick.   Homework is a big factor in this, that's very important. Health department: Even though the health department is 50cents more, I don't think it's worth it. If it starts at 2:30, that means you have only 5 minutes to get there. And (depending on the school, my school does) sometimes schools release late. Mexican place: The Mexican place is 3 days a week, more days off and more time to do homework. Even though it does have bad times, at least you have time to get ready for work and relax a bit before going straight to work after a long day at school! No taxed paycheck is nice :3 If you barely finish your homework there, that's a big problem. So when you get home at eight, you have to stay up all night doing the homework you couldn't finish? I think the Health department will affect your school work, you can't do homework. On the other hand, you have to stay at the Mexican place until 8- less sleep, unless you go to bed right away at home IF you have your homework done already which it could be because they allow you to there but you have more time to do your homework after work with the health department Hmm.. That's hard. AT first I thought "Mexican place" but I read "barely finish homework" and that made me think better. It's a hard decision, but I would pick the health department.
