• This summer i have been invited to a month long camp type thing. It is for people ages 16-24 with visual impairments. And i think about 8 people do it. It is meant to be a small number. The camp is a work camp. So basically, we will all get up in the morning(we will live in apartments together. half boys, half girls.seperate rooms) we will cook breakfast, and get ready for work and then take public transportation to work.work will be in an office setting. we will work for about 3 hours, take an hour break, then work for another 3 hours, then take public transportation back. I think we will have some free time and then cook supper and more free time, then bed.On the weekends i think we can pretty much do whatever. We make a lot of money doing this. The camp will teach a lot of independent living skills.i think tthere will be one counseler for the boys and one for the girls. i was looking for a packing list on the website and i forgot to mention it the last time i was on the phone with the person in chharge of it. what kind of stuff will i need/want?

  Find out how often clothes are laundered at camp, and pack accordingly. Include an extra pillowcase or laundry bag for dirty clothing. Ask about camp regulations regarding sending food and money from home. Don't buy a brand-new wardrobe. While one or two new items are fine, camp life can be rough on clothing. Especially first-timers, will also find old favorites reassuring when they're away from home. Send medication in its original container, along with explicit dosage instructions to the camp nurse or healthcare facility.
