What's a good way for me to make my mum stop drinking alcohol?

  • She's always mean and abusive when she has her bottle of wine at night and I'm tired of putting up with it. I have tried telling her to stop but she says it's me that's bad, that is all she seems to remember in the morning, that she was angry with me. She never remembers why or what she has done. How can I make it stop?

You can't stop your mum. She has an addiction and you need a professional to intervene. And even then only she can stop herself. There is a group called AA (alcoholics anonymous) that can help. Google it for your local organisation and contact them. Tell them what you've said on here. In the mean time try to stay away from your mum while she is drunk. Also, you shouldn't drink either. Studies have shown that being an alcoholic can be genetic.

stay away from her when she's drinking, tell her when she's sober how hurtful it is to you, or you could talk to a counselor at school.
