What are you doing for Mother's Day?

What do you expect from Mothers Day?

  • Do you think Mothers Day should be about getting a chanve to relax, or spending time with the kids? I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old, and personally I would like time to myself for mothers day, and a chance to relax. but their dad thinks it is about being a mother and therefore i am looking after the kids today. but i think this should be my special day, how is looking after the kids any different from any other day? what are all you guys doing for mothers day?

    I think you should be able to relax and have some me time if you want it. Its YOUR day not their dad's day...it sounds to me like he is tryin to get some dad time on mom's day without coming right out and saying it. But anyway the only thing I expect on Mothers Day is to sleep until 7 am instead of 5 a.m. and maybe handing over my 10 month old to my husband when she has poo. = )

I think it's definately a day to be thanking Mom for all she does, by giving her time to relax and some time to herself. I told my husband all I want for Mother's Day is PEACE! That means if the kids need something, they go to their Daddy for it. I dont want to hear the kids screaming "MOMMY!!!!". Mother's Day is my day of rest, not my day of taking care of kids! Ask your husband to take the kids out for a couple hours, or go out and get yourself a pedicure, or just lock yourself in the bedroom and watch a movie by yourself or take a nap. You deserve it!

I agree. As much as I adore my 5yr son, on Mother's Day, I took foward to NOT being a mother lol. I ask to sleep in, something I only do once a year, and have peace and quiet throughout the day. That's it. I don't need flowers, presents, for someone to be my beck and call...just a book, my sweatpants, a couch and I'm a happy gal =]. My husband and son actually call Mother's Day, "Father-Son Bonding Day" lol. They're making me breakfast tomorrow and going to the batting cages.

SO.... does that mean on Father's Day HE gets to take care of the kids all day??? Tell hubby what you truly want for mother's day.... a day of peace. Tell him that would be the BEST gift ever!!!

well my hubby gets me breakfast in bed n wants to take daughter somewhere to leave me alone but i get lonely by myself. my daughter wants personal time with me n do our nails/hair etc her way. all right w/me!!! good luck!!

I think whatever you say goes on your day. Which means if you want a day to yourself you should get it.
