How can I get my 5 month old to sleep in his crib?

  • I am a teen mom and its really diffical for me. I have 3 younger sisters and 1 a baby brother. Well I breastfeed my baby boy jayden, he is 5 months almost 6. Well he slept in the Moses basket, (or whatever its called) until he was a month old, since then he has been sleeping with us. He doesn't stay on the bouncer nor swing for more than 15 minutes. He won't sleep on his own, we have to be walking around with him in order to fall asleep. And once he is asleep I try to put him down but as soon as I move him from my arms he wakes up. I dont know what to do. Oh also he won't take a pasi nor anything ANYTHING besides my Brest.

    I dont know mamita. My son did the same thing with me... ended up putting him next to me on my bed. They say that when you breast feed, the baby can "smell you", or smell the milk, so maybe that's why he knows that you are getting up.. I just cuddled with my son on my bed so he knew I was there for him... as they get older they start getting their own independency.. my neighbor had told me to put him on his crib and let him cry all night long.. that the next day he would be fine.. but I did not have the heart to do that..

Some people dont believe in this but it worked like a charm for my mother when she was dealing with me and my sister as babys and she only had to do it once with each of us. She put us in the crib (dry,fed,ect. so we didnt need anything) and when we started to cry (for no reason,just for attention) she just let us cry for the night,didnt come get us no matter what. She said she only had to do it one night and it solved the issue.

try putting him to sleep in the carseat... it worked for both my kids... then id put the carseat in the crib so they got used to waking up in the crib. then i just started putting them down in the crib and it worked!

try placing a blanket between you and him when you hold him. it'll get warm and then when you lay him down it wont be as cold to him. also try staying close to the crib and when he's asleep gentle lay him down. sometimes if you pat them on their bottoms as the go to sleep when you lay them down pat them again til the fall back to sleep. also i found if i didnt say anything to my son as i laid him down if he roused up he went right back to sleep

You are just going to have to lay him in his bed if he wakes up pat him back to sleep dont get him out. You may have to repeat this a few times but he will start to get use to eat and begin to sleep in his crib. Good luck.
