Mothers, how different did your baby look, when born, to the ultrasound scan?
-
what i mean is; did your babies' features actually differ greatly in real life, as oppose to how they looked on the ultrasound scan? (STANDARD 2DSCAN) NOT 3/4D. i'm 32wks on sunday & had a scan yesterday&photo- my baby boy's features(nose &lips) look quite strange, not bad i would say. he looks cute, but nothing like mine or his dad's. do you think that will most probably be how my son looks? tell me your stories, thankyou!

Answer:
The ultrasounds taken for my first and third babies late in pregnacy made them look very chubby and round, and of course when they are born they have chicken legs and need to be fattened up! They always look funky on the ultrasound.

My ultrasound made my son head look enormous lol and he was poking his lips out like he was puckering up for a kiss. Now that he's born his head looks a lot smaller but he does poke out his lips a lot lol
i had a 2D scan when i was 16 weeks. when my son was born, he looked very similar but more matured (if that makes sense). when i was further along i had a 3D scan done and he looked JUST like the ultrasound picture. i was amazed at how accurate it was.
with the 2d you cant really see a lot of features so i wouldnt worry about it i would go get a 3d 4d if you really want to know what he is going to look like
Mine looked really different. In the ultrasound their noses and lips looked enormous, and I was scared they would look funny but they were born with cute little button noses and my daughter has pretty lady lips and my son has his Daddy's
The best scan pic I got is still on my fridge and he looks exactly like that while he sleeps.
2d scans are usually very different as remember its just the outline not their actual features. my daughter was similar to her 2d scans but not majorly. we had a 4d scan too and when she was born she did look closely the same to the 3d photos but she changed very quickly and soon looked nothing like in the photos. babies grow and change a lot in the womb so they dont necessarily look anything like in the scans but certain features like face shape, nose etc usually stay exactly the same.
i had my scan at 29wks and my daughter was the spitting image of how she looked when she was born. she made a frowny/"crying" face during her scan that looks JUST like her when she cries in person. ultra-sounds are so smushy and blobby sometimes so i wouldn't really take it to heart how he looked in the u/s to believe what he'll look like in person.
my baby only looks healthier as in "gained weight" more than at the scan at 20 weeks gest. my baby had the same skull shape.
