What is a rolling calendar?

  • When I took the job I am in now, I remember my manager saying that I had 6 days off in a rolling calendar year. (Most employees accure PTO in an hourly format at this job.) I am a weekender, meaning I only work weekends and I sign a one year contract from one year to the next. My first day off was in July, but I renew my contract this January...so do I get another 6 days off when I renew or in July?

  • Answer:

A rolling calandar starts and stops on the same day. We have a points system where I work for lates, absents, etc. And your points do not go away until it gets back to the day you got the point. So for you, you may renew in January but you rolling calandar did not start until July so you will not get anymore vacation days until July. I hope this helps!!

Other answers

If your first day *on the job* was July 1, you'll get more time off on July 1.
