Has anybody ever used ultraviolet paint?

Tips to paint a crib?

  • I am painting my daughters crib, she is due on April 1st and I wanted to paint it well in advanced to be 100% sure that all the fumes and odour has time to leave the surface. I'm planning on doing these steps: 1. sand (already done) 2. 2 coats of primer 3. use fine grit to sand primer 4. 2 coats paint (and possibly fine grit sand again) 5. 1 or 2 coats finish (satin/semi-gloss) Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing any steps, let me know if you think I should do something else. I am planning on using the CIL Platinum, 100% acrylic/latex/water based paints because they are VOC and lead free. If anybody has used this paint before on furniture OR has another paint that worked really well when painting cribs, I would love to hear more suggestions! Thanks

Sounds like you got it down! (: I would make sure you get a paint that doesnt peel easy bc she might peel it off and maybe even possibly eat it :O Good luck!
