Answer:
no they cant but i dont think you have anything to worry about. I drank a bit too when i found i was pregnant with my first and he turned out fine. I think its if mother drink alot at the beginning and throughout the pregnancy and dont care. Having a few drinks early on in pregnancy doesnt cause fetal alcholo syndrome.

most of the time you can't even tell when the baby is born until you start missing developmental milestones unless it is really bad. i wouldn't worry about it. a few drinks that early on in development should not have that much of an effect if any.
Yeah, don't worry about it... lots of people did things before finding out they were pregnant. FAS takes a bit more than a drink here or there during pregnancy. I was actually diagnosed with a very VERY mild case of it when i was a teenager and my mom was drinking like a fish with me, (before they really told you what could happen if you drink while you're pregnant)so It apparently takes quite a bit. No, they can't tell, it requires testing after the baby is here.. I did the same thing with my daughter (didn't find out until the 9th of january i was pregnant and drank a bunch on new years eve and that following weekend.. of course. lol) But she's 4 now and perfectly fine. Try not to worry. :)
there is no way you bub would be affected, most people dont know when they are at that stage they are even preggas... FAS is for pisshead mothers who drink to excess.... your bundle is fine
i found out at 4 weeks that i was pregnant and had had a few drinks as well, and my baby is just fine! as long as you are not drinking now everything should be fine! so don't worry!!!
I have never drank when I was even early along... but I know that my Dr has told me that the very first couple months you are probably ok. I took a pill for a yeast infection when I was probably about 4 weeks when I didn't know, and my Dr told me its fine. You just dont want to do or take anything as soon as you know.
No they dont have test for that , but You should be fine it being the early in your pregnancy , My cousin didnt know she was Pg until about 8 weeks or so along , and she drank ALOT during that time , and she did other stuff as well , and she told her doctor and he said that it being that early that the baby would be fine . but there are some test further along in your pregnancy that your dr will do to make sure that the baby is ok and want have like CP and Down syndroome , I dont know if they do it on everyone , but I know they did on my cousin when she was 6 months and again at 8 months but maybe it was because she had told the drs about all the drinking and other crap she did . But I wish you the best of luck
Seriously, I had been on a drinking spree when I found out I was about 5 weeks along. My son is 4.5 months now and healthy and hitting all of his milestones. My dr. said that women have done way worse and not to worry about. The embryo would not even be exposed to the alcohol at 4 to 6 weeks because the blood supply is not coming from the placenta yet.
Lindsay honey, do not worry yourself about this. Do you know how many woman have drank in the first few weeks of pregnancy before knowing? If you ask your doctor, he will tell you the stress of worrying is doing more harm than anything. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is not from a few drinks one or two nights in the first stages of pregnancy. It is a result of someone who has recklessly abused alcohol throughout their pregnancy. I myself had a whopping good time with friends on two different occasions when I was between 4-5 weeks pregnant. When I told my doctor he just laughed and said that was too early in the pregnancy to have caused any damage. I am a logical person and knew that was the case, but I still felt a big sigh of relief as I walked out of the office. :-) Now enjoy your pregnancy!
I also drank alot before I found out at 5 weeks. Not alot but every weekend leading up to that, No, but dont worry about it. Alot of women do before they know. Do some reaserch and you will see that your baby is not getting anything passed through the umbilical cord until the 4th mth. God thought very carefully before he created us! LOL. Think about it if things started passing to the baby immediately so many babies would be seriously unhealthy. This is another reason why most women( not all) have morning sickness and can hardly eat the first trimester. Also if you do dome research on FAS it is characterized by the women having 5 or more drinks a day. NOw i would suggest none ( that was my choice) butt his is what they say. My daughter is 6 mths and is healthy as a horse! She was so healthy that they did not take her out of our room the while time in the hospital ( 3 days because I had a c section, which is short time usually 4 -5 days, but we were both good to go) except for the routine hearing check and a weight check. YOur fine, dont worry. Just no more drinking :) GL
