How to become a neonatal nurse?

• I am currently attending at a community college and i want to be a Neonatal Nurse. I know i have to get a bachelor degree for neonatal nursing and i heard that i have to be at least 2 years RN experience. there are alot of people majoring in nursing, so i heard it takes forever to get into nursing program. alot of people told me that their friends waited for 3 years to get in. Please help me which way is faster to get my license. This is my plan :after i'm done with my general required at community college, I will apply at a private nursing school to get a bachelor degree. i'm wondering if they have neonatal nursing program or i have to be an RN for 2 years then go back to school to learn how to be a neonatal nurse. I"m confuse. My 2nd plan: transfer to a university to get a bachelor degree and if i cannot get into a nursing program, i'll go to a private school please help. i dont know what or how to start. or get a A.S degree. get in nursing program. work as a RN for 2 or 3 year while school online to get a bachelor degree. thats what my cousin told me [she's a nurse]

  Community college does have a long waiting list for nursing. I think your 2nd choice is a good one. Avoid community college if you don't want to wait too long. Your cousin plan could also work, but as far as I know a lot of hospital require their RN with BSN degree.
