How do I get my 5 month old to sleep in her crib?

  • My 5 month old does not like her crib at all. Every time I try to get her to sleep in it she starts fussing/crying. I have tried to lay her down for naps in it first and she will not stop crying and I know she is tired when I lay her down in it. She is getting too big for her bassinet and I have no idea where she will sleep once she officially gets too big for the bassinet if she doesn't sleep in her crib. Please let me know any tips to get her to sleep in it.

My baby did the same thing. She ended up just sleeping in her swing! I finally got her to sleep in her crib by buy a mobile and this thing from walmart that hooks onto the crib and plays music and plays pictures on the ceiling. She LOVES them and will watch them until she falls asleep and now I dont even have to use them because they got her used to sleeping in the crib. Maybe try that? Worth a shot.

I would say just let her cry a little while and she'll get use to it. Does she get a bath or anything before bed time? I didn't have a problem with my son, he loves his crib still at 2 yrs. old. He did like to hold a blanket. I just waited until he went to sleep and took it out then. Also, them little things you can get for the crib that hang on the side, like the fish aquarium I think can help. Or rock her to sleep before you put her in it? I think she just has to adjust and get used to sleeping in something different. She sounds scared out of her bassinet.
