What is a good gift for a GODFATHER to give his new born GOD DAUGHTER?

  • My best friend asked me to be the GOD Father of his unborn little girl and I am confused on what to get. The parents from what I believe supposed to get the bed, stroller and car seat. I am all out of ideas because I know everyone else is going to give some sort of gift basket... but the GOD Father is not suppose to give something like that right??? I have a baby spa from Babies R Us and a high chair right now, not to keen on the baby spa, but its her first so she may want to spoil the girl a little.

    I'm not really sure,but when my BF has a child,I will be his/her god mother and I plan to get the baby a personalized piece of jewelery something that will last forever.

How about a childrens bible? I'm a god parent and in our family part of that role is to spiritually lead the children. When she's older you can spend time with her reading the bible and helping her grow spiritually. Her family will get tonnes of stuff between the baby showers, etc... material gifts will be "lost and forgotten" in the shuffle once she is born. A bible is a keepsake.

A small gold baby bangle, would be a perfect gift.

Those 2 gifts are great & practical ... but you may also want to get something extra that's a little more personal and sentimental (women love that stuff ... & the mom will really appreciate it). A good idea of some kind of memento box for baby's firsts ... like a pretty pink couple of boxes that hold baby's first haircut, first tooth, etc. They sell these at Red Envelope and places like that -- you can just google it. I got one of these for my son this year, at our shower, and i just love it.

You are not REQUIRED to buy any certain thing. Get what you like or they need.

My favorite baby gift to give is a sterling silver baby spoon set. That way when people accuse her of being born with a silver spoon she can say, "Why yes I was."
