At what age do babies usually stop using bottles and start using sippy cups?

Answer:
It depends on what for. If you are talking about going from formula or expressed breastmilk to food and whole cows milk, (aka "weaning") that is more a dietary issue. It is better to breastfeed or give formula until at least 12 months and a bottle is probably easier for this than a cup. If you are talking about just giving additional fluids in a cup, you can try a regular cup or sippy cup from 6 months. It will depend on your child's personal tastes whether s/he will drink from it though. My son is 7 months old and he drinks water from a cup after he eats his solids (he doesn't like the sippy thing, he just drinks straight from a cup). He still gets breastmilk or formula in a bottle when I'm not home though. And I breastfeed when I am home.

I would say the stop using the bottle completely at the age of one but you start introducing them to a sippy cup by at least 10 months so they are use to it!

I did this and it worked for me and my 3 kids. When they were able to sit up on their own and hold their own bottle I started introducing a sippy cup. The bottle only had formula in it and the sippy would have water or juice. Unless it was hot and they need to keep hydrated then they had a bottle of water/juice. They make a mess at first and you really have to help them out then they get the handle of it and then you can start taking the bottles away. By the time they were 1 all the bottles were thrown away. They got to watch me do it and said bye bye. That is what worked for me, my boys were a bit harder to pick this up but it still worked. Also my kids were sleeping threw the night and never went to bed with a bottle, well maybe sometimes but very very rare. Good luck

It's supposed to be good for them to get off of bottles by 1 year. Some babies may decide for themselves. My daughter wouldn't drink her formula at 8 months. I got a sippy cup, and it's been no problem since.
