How old do you have to be to intern for a website?

• How old do you have to be to intern for a website? I have no clue with these kind of things...... my aunt's friend has a website and my aunt told me to e-mail in a bio/resume to intern for it, although I have no clue when it comes to this. What should I write on my resume/ bio? Would it be too time-consuming? Too difficult? What should I do? Would I have to meet up with my aunt's friend before I start to intern? I just turned 13 yesterday..... but I am interested to intern for this website, but I'm not sure if I am eligible to intern at my age, and my aunt is seriously clueless with these kind of things. I would like to do all of this without my parents' knowledge, if possible. Thank you in advance and please give me tips...

  Thirteen is generally too young. Actually I think it might be illegal. For jobs, its illegal to hire anyone younger than 14 or 15, and at that age the hours are restricted. So most places don't hire anyone younger than 16 because of those legal limitations. Internships are different, but similar. I've never seen an internship for anyone younger than a junior or senior in high school. The point of internships is to build on a young person's knowledge and skills in a particular career direction with more specific, experiential learning. If you haven't completed most of high school yet, the internship will not be useful to you, and actually be more work to the company/website, because you won't have learned the basic knowledge required for the job yet. Also, most applications for jobs/internships ask how old you are, and require parental permission if you are under 18.
