Dont like new songs Im 15, (Boy) is it normal? :)?

  • so here it is, I actually hate Justin Beiber, Dubstep, Skrillex, Nicki minaj, David guetta,Lonely Island,club music,chipmunks (Eww),ETC And just basically most of the songs of what teens like today!!! I like songs like "Hey Ya-Outkast" And songs from Blink-182 and songs like "In The Air Tonight", Or "Where is my mind" Which are like Old In terms Of today, However I dont like jazz or classical. Basically I hate songs which use computer generated things, Like auto tune is horrible and like dubstep... I like simple songs which actually require skill and talent to produce with a singer, Drummer,bass,Guitarist ETC Trust me ive actually made a decent song on the computer and its actually not that hard! Is it normal for me not to like these todays songs but like the "Good Old days" songs???The only songs i like which is recently new is from "Foster the People" Now thats music is there any teens like me which actually agree with me and hate todays teen songs?     Normal, Everyone has their own style of music Well I grew up in the 80s, 90s. I don't like the music of today much, Sure there are some good ones. But overall it's all pretty lame. Justin bieber is a waste of space. I miss the late 90's, early 2000's music. Britney Spears type. Plus I think nicki minaj and lady gaga are try hard freaks.

I don't like the obnoxious pop songs that are popular, I don't really like dubstep I like electronica. But I feel ya kid, I really like Blink-182, The Red Hot Chili Peppers are my ****, oh and Sublime :)

I have lived my life basically the same sort of way. I was born in 1983 but the only modern music I liked when I was a young teen was Oasis. The rest just sounded awful to me and I have always liked bands like Queen, The Beatles, Dire Straits, The Jam and Depeche Mode as well as artists like David Bowie and Michael Jackson. I do like the odd new song now including Foster The People but everything else you have listed is rubbish! I have spent lost of my life listening to Absolute Radio (formally Virgin) which only plays 'proper music' where the artists write their own songs and play instruments and at 28 I can't see myself changing tbh.

It depends, I don't like most of the music you've listed above for both what you do and don't like. Songs that require skills and talent are around in abundance if you look in the right places, 2011 was brilliant for new artists like this and 2012 looks to be even better. Check out Ben Howard (the way this guy plays guitar is literally incredible, I saw him live and it was amazing), Of Monsters and Men, Diagrams, Bastille, Brother and Bones(especially their acoustic stuff), The King Blues. These bands are almost all on the verge of breaking out and have the potential to make it. I hate all that too high five, but I listen to rappers from Texas like spm, dj screw, zro, big moe, scarface, esg, lil keke and the list goes on and on but yeah I tell everybody I hate the radio stuff
