How much spending money would a 14 year old girl need going to NYC?

Wow that is a lot of money. I was only thinking about $200.

Wow... I could use $1,000 for my college classes next semester... ooh, or maybe a used Honda so I can drive myself to work for once... Honestly, I bet you go to a private school too. I can't imagine needing more than a few hundred for a shopping spree, but that's just me...

That is WAY too much money for a parent to shell out for their child for clothing or for you to even spend on one trip. Just because you're in New York City doesn't mean you have to hit up the most expensive stores like Neiman Marcus or Barney's. There are plenty of boutiques and department stores that have equally cute clothing for more than half the price. Since I'm assuming your parents are paying for the trip to NYC, I don't think you should ask for more than you need. I know it's fun to hit up NYC but you can't overdo it. You don't need the designers, settle for something less.

what? when i go to NYC to visit relatives i get nothing maybe a couple bucks to get a snack and a twenty to shop but whoa i'm sorry, i just personally have never got 1000 for anything

Ya I'm sure that's more than enough. lol I went on a trip to Italy and Greece and few years ago. I had $500 spending money, that I earned myself by babysitting a few times every week for 4 months! I wish I had that much money to spend!

Depends on where you are planning to shop. Going to thrift stores and cheaper department stores like the new JC Penny in NYC, that would be a good amount, but going to more upscale places like Intermix, Nordstrom, Saks, Barneys, etc, you might want to bring a little more. Better to bring too much than too little. If you have the money, then I would bring maybe twice that for a shopping spree. I used to sell bracelets too! You make a lot more money then most people would think.

No, that would be about right, my parents gave me 1,500 for a weekend, but I am 13. I didn't spend all of it though and mine was for my birthday.
