How do you tell a boy that you like him?

How should I tell the Boy I like that I have a skin Condition?

  • Okay, so I know from reading my question, you may think that it would be easy to come out and tell someone that I have a skin condition, BUT trust me Its not. I have known this guy since I was 15 (almost 4 years now.) And I really like him...and hes a really good friend.I have Vitiligo, but I dont know how to tell him of my skin condition. Its not contagious and its only on my hands and feet and a little on my face. No one knows outside my family. The only people I talk to about it are my mom & sister. And I dont even know anyone who has it. I just feel like if I tell him that he will treat me like an alien and start treating me like I actually have a "skin disease" Like im afraid that he wouldn't want to touch me or anything. Cause that's just how he can be or I picture him being that way. Anyways, so how should I approach this topic to him. Any suggestions? thanks :)

I have that too! But I only have a few spots on my ankles and knees. I just explain to people that some of my skin has no pigment, and most of them actually think it's pretty cool! And vitiligo is actually an auto-immune disease, which means it's not even a "skin disease." It just shows its symptoms on your skin. If I were you, I would just come right out and tell him. Explain what it is and I'm sure he'll be understanding, and maybe even interested in learning more about it! Trust me, medical conditions sometimes seem embarrassing for people who have them, but most other people find them cool :)

vitiligo... wait... isnt that that thing michael jackson said he had? anyways. is it really that noticeable? what i believe is "dont ask dont tell". if he never questions you about it, then i dont see you having any reason to tell him... plus it would be weird if you suddenly went up and told him you had a skin condition that made you white. if he asks you about it, play it off cool and say "yeah, i got this really weird skin thing that makes me look white in places. its that thing that michael jackson had." play it off as if its not a big deal or anything, or even as if your proud with it. if you act as if you think this thing makes you a freak, then he'll think that you are a freak. act as if it makes you special, or as if its nothing anyone really cared about before so why should he care. anyways, good luck.

One time when you're hanging out, playing a board game or whatever :) you can show him your hand and be like "hey look" and he might say why is it lighter, and then you can explain that you have an autoimmune disease that sometimes destroys pigment cells. That way it's not like a rash or anything. Hope that helps. Already 2 people with it have answered, you're not alone.

I have it as well! And it's all over my legs and ankles, sadly there is no cure but you can use treatments that can encourage the pigment to come back in your skin just go to a dermatologist and they can help you from there. Don't worry though, all my friends think it's pretty cool and rarely ask about it, it does not affect what people think about you!

I am 17 and I also have vitilgo. Unfortunately I cant hide mine because it has spread almost throughout my whole body but I have a boyfriend of one year and he or any other guy I've dated has never had a problem with it. Im sure if you told him (especially since he is a good friend) that he will have no problem either! : )
