Why does student wants to enrolled nursing course?

Hey, student Visa I-20 Legal Status situation here, need help. Please??

  • Ok, So I'm an international student here in L.A. and I have this japanese friend that was with me at a language until about 2 months ago, when he finished his course he decided to take a couple of weeks to visit the wonders of the great state of California. Now he planned on going back to school after those weeks off. He has a I20 student visa and a F1 paper also, and as you may or may not already know he can stay not more than 60 days without studying. But here's the issue, he took it way too easy and me, him and his friends we went weekend parties over weekend parties, now last week he realized than his 60 days will end up the 23rd of December cause he finished his previous course the 23rd of October. So he in a hurry he looked for a language school to go in so he can stay legal in the country, he found one and will start his next course next Monday the 27th of December. Here's my concern. Even though he is enrolled and signed in in this new language school, the 23rd it won't be in class yet. So what I'm sayiin will he be deported the 23rd even though he is signed in the school but won't start classes until the 27th??????????? IN the most dramatic case, if deported how hard will it be for him if he wants to come back to the US? I really appreciate some helpful answers. Thank You

  • Answer:

On your I-20 there is D/S: Duration of status. If it says that, it means that as long as he has that status he wont be deported. Dont worry, he is studying now... He is enrolled right... that means that he will eb taking classes. Anyways, if he was allowed to register for the class, it means its ok. I hope he doesn't, but I am sure he most likely wont.

He should be discussing his situation the the DSO of the school he was admitted to attend. If he has been reported to be in violation of status there is a procedure to apply for reinstatement and transfer to the other school.
