What can i do to get my passport back?

• when i came back into the country from egypt homeland security said that my passport was reported stolen or lost. and they had to take it. So i asked how can anyone board a plane headed for the continential US. on a stolen passport? from there the story quickly changed to i had a 12 yr. old warrent (which didnt stop me from traveling for the last 8 yrs. or getting the passport) some guy came from the state department and took it. So i tried to call the state deparment to find out what i can do to get it back. it seems that nobody knows anything, or automated answering machines that send you off in circles with in circles. so bottom line is. who can i talk to, where can i go, what can i do, to get a straight answer on how can i get my passport back. i have a wife and children there, i need to go back!
