How long does it take to get passport in india?

Could someone pls tell me how long does it take for a indian lost passport in canda surrey BC?

  • First they gave me a slip telling me your passport will take 6-8 weeks we waited in that time frame but still no answer. I gave in all info and supporting papers police report, fees, pictures you name it everything... My question is that its been 3 months now ..and there still is no answer until when we can get the passport. was wondering if any one had the same problem we are going to india in dec?? ANY IDEA HOW LONG IT WILL STILL TAKE ...they say they are waiting for a police cleanrance from india until then they cant do anything bout this matter we go in every other week to find out but no help !! ANYONE KNW WHAT WE CAN DO NEXT ITS OCT 15TH AND DEC 08 WE ARE LEAVING PLS HELP OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE TO CANCEL TICKETS !! THANKS
