Where to go for a short student holiday?

I want to go the usa for a working holiday but im not a student, how do i go about it?

  • i have a levels and i have done a course in childcare, but its for myself and my boyfriend who doesnt have qualifications, and most of the websites ive seen are for students working there. im not really fussy what sort of job but id like to go for 6months or so! is there anyways of securing a job and accomodation before hand or will we have to just go there and hope?

  • Answer:

You will need an H-1 visa to work in the US and you need it before you get here. To get one you need a signed employment contract from your employer to be and most often these can only be obtained for a specialty occupation when the employer demonstrates to immigration that they could not find a suitable legal US resident or citizen to fill the position.

The only possibility is through the exchange visitor program. See this site for particulars: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1267.html
