How long does an H1B stamping interview last?

H1B Stamping outside home country?

I am an indian citizien who recently finished a PhD in USA on an F-1 Visa. I started working on an OPT and now my H1B petition as been approved but I do not have an H1B stamp on my passport. My employer wants to send me to Japan for work or a few weeks. Can I get the H1B stamping done in the US embassy in Japan? Or do I need to make a trip to India in order to get the H1B stamping done? Answer:

Contact US Consulate in Japan. Some consulates do not accept any visa application from non citizen or resident of the country. Keep in mind that if your visa is not approved in Japan, they will deport you to India.
