Where can I get facts about Germany?

I want to know if I can get a work visa from the USA once I am already in Germany. I ask bc I am trying to?

  • move to Germany to teach English. It's better money than I make now and once I learn the language I may want to pursue other job opportunties in Germany. The problem I am coming across is most, if not all employers will not hire unless you are already living in Germany but I am NOT allowed to get a work visa unless I am offered a job. So how do I go about getting a job since I am not in Germany yet or should I just give up. It would ideal if I could get a work visa and then get a job in Germany but that is not the case. Anyone who has gone to the US to Germany to teach English and has experienced this problem, please help me do this!! DANKE!!!

  • Answer:

You have no basis for a work visa to Germany. There are tens of thousands of German citizens who are fluent in English and can do what you can do, so they really have no use for an American, especially if you are not fluent in German. If the Krauts were looking for somebody who can teach Suaheli and Sanskrit in an International school, and you were fluent and certified in both, with teaching credentials in Germany to top it off, that would be a different ballgame. See it this way: there is no way in hell for a German teacher to come to the U.S. and teach German here because he or she would like to do that. None.
