What are the steps I need to take to be a psychologist?

In order to move to a new country, what are the steps you need to take?

  • I'm from Ohio and am seriously debating on spending some time in Europe. I know I would need a passport.. but other than that I have no Idea the steps I would need to take, and the things I would need to do in order to stay there awhile.

  • Answer:

It is tremendously hard to get approval to live in a European country. As open as the United States is with their immigration policy, Europe is the opposite. The government and the people just plain don't want you in their country. In many cases, you have to prove that you have better training, education and better skills than any other people in that country's job pool - because if you think you're getting in without a job plan, forget it. Prior medical history a problem? Forget it. Criminal record? Don't bother. Plus the culture shock is something no one really thinks about. Most people in the world have exposure to America, and are familiar with at least some basic parts of our culture. Can you say the same about your knowledge of Denmark? Or Switzerland? This isn't like going on vacation, and in fact, as I said before, is a ridiculously difficult thing to do.
