Where can i get a work permit in California if my school can't give me one?

I just enrolled in a new school and i also just got hired to a new job. The school requires you to be enrolled for 6- 8 weeks for them to give you a work permit. I need to find somewhere else to give me a work permit so i can start working and going to school. Is there anywhere else i can get one?

Answer:
As a student, you won't get a work permit. All you are allowed to do is work on campus, like in the cafeteria.
