• Hi all, My Full name is Jamie Elizabeth Spratlen. I know you may be thinking " why do you want to change your name or dont do that" but I would appreciate if you just respect what im asking you. I live in Nebraska and im 14. I really want to change my name. I have told my parents and told them it could be a "birthday present coming up the beggining of next year. My mom said it wouldnt bother her and my dad said he will think about it and that they will have to talk about it. I wanted to change my first name to Faith because i believe it is the prettiest name ever in my eyes and it explains alot well, and like everybody else i dont like my name.. I would change my middle name (Elizabeth) To my current first name(Jamie) that way my family can still call me Jamie and it will also help conviince my dad that im not completly getting rid of my name. So i was wondering about a few things. First, in the state of Nebraska can my parents sign for it because im a minor? Secondly Approximatley how much will it all cost( that includes the petition fee, court costs, actual name change fee?) . How long will it take to process it all? Can the judge decline my request for a new name if my only reasoning is that i love the name and it explains alot about me? And lastly, your opinion about people who change their name? Thanks guys!
