  • I am a permanent resident of the USA, ( CU6 Category ) I applied for a Re-entry permit and expedited it, I'm traveling to the UK on the 1st of august I've called USCIS and Dept. of state and travel.. They all said i need a re-entry to leave the country, I'm only staying 1 month do i need a UK visa to be allowed into the country, There is no possible way to acquire a cuban passport. thus im going the re-entry permit way. Thank you very much!!!

  • Answer:

As a Cuban, you are required to apply for and have a valid UK visa prior to travel to the UK. In order to apply for a UK visa, you must have a valid passport, with at least 6 months remaining before it expires. Without a valid passport and UK visa inside, you will not be allowed into the UK. Without a valid passport, you will not even be allowed to board a plane.

Visa requirement is based on the citizenship of your passport. UK visa has nothing to do with your US green card or Re Entry Permit. Check with UK Consulate website if you are required visa based on your citizenship. US Re Entry permit only lets you enter back to US, not UK.
