Status of my passport?

I need to apply for a passport for second time. 1st application it says invalid in online status.. pls help?

i have already applied for the first time in 2008 my File Ref.Number : HYD-A230367-08. application date :07/12/2008. the problem is i didnot undergo any police verification till now. upto JAN2010 the status here in the following web address "http://164.100.17.25/passmain.php?city=… was "Police Report has not been received." And after JAN2010 there is no status and it says "File Reference Number (HYD-A230367-08) is either wrong or Information NOT available"... now i need a suggestion please if i can apply for a passport directly second time or should i do any thing about previous one, bcoz its a hell going to regional passport office secunderabad and asking for my status. CAN I APPLY FOR A PASSPORT WITH NEW APPLICATION ? ....PLEASE SUGGEST ME THANX IN ADV...
