Tourist visa for Burmese to visit Canada?

Can somone visit Canada who overstayed their tourist visa in the US?

My wife is Hungarian and would like to visit Canada. She was previously in the US for around two years and overstayed her tourist visa. We were in the process of filing her paperwork with immigration, but her dad suddenly died, and she had to go back home to be with her mom. I live in New York, fairly close to Canada, so I wondereding if it would be ok for her to visit Canada. This way, we could see other for a few months. But I'm wondering would Canadian immigration would deny her entry considering she overstayed here in the US? Appreciate any/all feedback.

Canada and the US do share information. It's not likely they'll want her knowing she disregards laws.
