Can I change my name?

Can i change my name while my green card is still in process?

  • I just filed the I-485 and I-130 for my adjustment of status, and just got the biometric service done. Ive been wanting to change my last name AND first name (I have this english name I've been using forever and I don't wanna have to worry about using my korean name on paper works) So I am thinking Im gonna make my korean name my first name, take my korean last name as middle name, and take my husband's last name as mine. and since i just found out that I will have to spend another $400 or so if i wanna replace my name on the green card later on.so when would be the best time for me to change my name? (I understand that changing my first name would be a whole different process to do from changing my last name) Is it possible to change my whole name before i get my actual green card and request uscis to use that name on the card instead? or should i just wait until i go through naturalization and get the citizenship? Thanks:)

  • Answer:
