How to immigrate to canada?

  • I am a 25 years old engineer (Electronics/Telecomm/IT) with 13 years of engineering background. I currently live in Paris on a residency permit. I want to move to Canada, to find a better life (Lower taxes, higher income, cheaper country as compared to France). I have been 3 years in university in Iran before I came to Paris (currently have 2.5 years of job-experience in France, over 8 years in Iran). Anybody has done the same before? How to move to Canada? Is it easy to find job? How long it takes...?

    Um I live in Canada currently and it seems like EVERY person who comes here from the Middle East is an engineer, so it's extremely hard to find work. I know 5 Egyptians with engineering degrees and they all work minimum wage at call centers. Taxes are very high here. I assume you speak French since you're in Paris, which is a plus in Canada, but still. You're probably gonna have a hard time finding work in that field.

I you are trying to avoid taxes, don't go to B.C or Ontario, Those two Provinces have the HST which you have to pay a 12% tax on everything, even haircuts, and food. This site should tell you the basics to immigration http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp
