Can I work in France without a visa if I'm British?

Pregnant 7 month with short france visa, can i stay longer?

  • im married w french and pregnant 6 month, but right now i havent apply the long stay visa/Carte de sejour yet, because i live in my country and work here.. to apply it takes time 2week-2 month because there will be the french test and course from the embassy. now my husband want me to move to france and give birth there. the problem is i dont have enough time to apply long stay visa and take the course here.. what if i go with my current short visa (max 90days) right now to france and stay there until i give birth, will the prefecture give me longer stay visa and let me give birth there? because after 7 month its risky to go by plane? (i need to take min 18h to go by plane)..help me please, i am so confuse and pity to mu husband if he cant see the baby born..

  • Answer:

In order to stay in France you need to apply for the carte de séjour. You cannot just go and have a child. Take the time or wait after the birth. No the Préfecture will NOT extend your stay. Tell your husband to come to you until the birth and then file proper documents for you.

Your husband might have to consider traveling to where you are if he wants to be at the birth.
