How to Obtain a UK indefinite?

I am a US citizen my fiancee is UK citizen how to we obtain a marriage license and prenup?

  • He is coming here (to kansas) for 2 wks since I will be moving back with him soon to help tie some loose ends up, I am US born he is UK how do we obtain a marriage license in Kansas or anywhere in the US? How long does it take? Process of? Cost? etc..... We both have passports, divorce decrees, and ID from our countries of origin....We also would like to obtain a prenup while here yet and again will have about 2 weeks to do so, same questions listed above apply here We just want to get the legalities done in the US but are having the ceremony at a later time when we can better afford itany information you can give will be most appreciated!! Thank You in advance!

    You should be able to apply for a marriage license at your local county courthouse, and you can probably get it signed by a judge within that same week. I am not sure what the cost would be in your area, but I am certain it wouldn't exceed $50. As for the prenuptial, I would strongly advise you to consult a lawyer that practices family law. I would imagine the lawyer could get one made for you within a day or two. It may cost you anywhere from $50 - $250 depending on the lawyer. Congratulations, and good luck with your nuptial!

I am a U.S. citizen as well, an my wife is Filipina but lives in London, we got married in NE all we did was get in touch with a local minister, got married in the church, then took that paperwork to the courthouse, it has worked for her an I here in the U.S.A. and in London thats how I got my visa to live here in the UK. Any family law lawer should be able to do a prenup, put papers will have to be noterised in the uk an filed for them to be legal there. WE DIDNT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE
