What is it like working at Tilly's?

I would like to move to work and Live in Vancouver. What is the easiest way to get a working visa?

  • I have looked at two options, Study Visa and Working Visa. Ideally I would like to go there and start working, so I was wondering if it is possible to apply for a job without a Working Visa? I have been informed that if you study in Canada for a year at a private institution the government will grant you a working visa for 3 years. This is an option, like I said, but the best would be if I could start working there as soon as I land.

  • Answer:

It doesn't work like that. You cannot work or enter with the intention of working without a visa. If you can find an employer who can prove there is no-one in Canada to take a specific job, he can sponsor you. This is unlikely if you do not have outstanding, unique skills. If you complete a four year university degree in Canada, as an international student, it may improve your chances of permanent residence. International students pay the full cost of university, about double what the locals pay. You can only work a limited amount in certain places as a student. Otherwise you have to apply to immigrate, The wait list is about two years.
