19 yr old US Citizen in the UK Recently Pregnant to 21 yr old UK Fiance, How can I stay or come back?
-
We met while I was on Holiday in December 08. I came back after leaving for the states 2 weeks later to spend 5 months in the UK on a visitors visa to see how things have panned out. Everything is great and we just found out I am pregnant. In Nov 08, the UKBA made a new 21 or older rule for all Partner Visas. Is this just a guideline, do they bend this rule due to certain circumstances? My mom is also coming over in the summer to join her husband in the UK. I was originally going to come over as a dependent upon her but she seems to worried about her own situation and worried about if her Husband can supply enough means to prove he can support me too. Also, for the past 4 months I have been dependent upon my Fiancé anyways, so it would be hard to prove my dependancy upon my mom. I have no support back in the states and once my mom leaves for the UK. I will not have a permeant place to live in the states. I want to have the baby in the UK with my Fiance and with my mother here also. I have no idea what to do, please help. I have looked high and low for information about my situation but with the new UK rules, it seems impossible.

Answer:
You already know that you are 19 years old and an ADULT; not a dependent of your mother's. Her husband is not obligated to support you; he's not married to you and he didn't make the mess, YOU did. What's wrong with the father of the unborn child stepping up to the plate and assuming some responsibility? What's wrong with you getting a job and supporting yourself? There are lots of expectant mothers dragging themselves out of bed and going to work every day. You should ask the Immigration Office about your visa or filing for an extension if necessary. You didn't mentioned anything about your biological father and I wonder why.

You cannot come to the UK on a fiance visa or spouse visa until you are 21. You have 2 options : get a student visa or a work visa. However, considering your pregnant state, they will never issue those visas. Your only option is to wait 2 years or have your fiance move to the states. Sorry, thats the way it is...

Get married, it makes everything more legitimate. He can apply for a visa for you in the UK, you will have to visit the British embassy nearest to your home town in the US, and then you should be able to get married and go to the UK without a problem.
