Overstaying visa in France by 11 days?
-
I am currently in France and have been for 3 months now. I am going to be over the 90 days bye 11 days and I am curious of what the penalities will be? Some people told me it is not a big deal but others told me it is. I cannot change my flight so what can I do or say to get away with it?

Answer:
You can't get away with it. You were given a set time limit and plane reservations are NO excuse. You were supposed to have a round-trip ticket, booked homeward for a date within limits of your visa, before you entered France. You blew it. Buy another ticket and get out before your visa expires. If you overstay your visa, you will have serious problems ever getting into France again. You will have problems getting into any EU country. You will have trouble - and can be denied any visa - with any country which shares info (many do now). And any country which asks on a visa application whether you have ever violated any visa, overstayed any visa, etc, if you answer yes - you're inadmissible, and if you lie by answering no - you generally commit felony perjury which can get you deported, jailed, or other big problems. Get another ticket and get out, or suffer the consequences. Buying a new ticket is very, very cheap compared to the costs of the troubles you will have for many, many years to come. Or you can go home late, stay there permanently, and never travel anywhere again.

Your VISA gives you a time which you are a loud to stay in the country. Because you have booked your flight outside your VISA time means you are an over stayer and next time you will find it hard to get a VISA to return. A ban will be put in place. I would ring the Embassy in France and explain your reasons why you can not get a earlier flight. You must leave the country before your VISA is up. All this is bad planning on your part.

Well you will get AWAY with it but you will not be able to get BACK (into any EU country) after this for the next 10 years (btw. there is no guarantee that they will let you in ever again even if the 10 years are over!)
