Can a friend sponsor me for green card in the united states?

okay i am 16 and i want to go the US, and there is a friend who is willing to sponsor me ,and i know that a friend can not sponsor me, only relatives can, but can my friend state me as his "brother" though i am not his brother, or can he state me as anything else except friend ofcourse. ??
