Have you ever heard of anyone becoming a "Sovereign Citizen"?

My grandmother WAS a Canadian Citizen, could that help my chances to becoming a Canadian Citizen?

  • My grandmother use to be a Canadian Citizen a few years back. Since she use to be a Canadian Citizen could that possibly help my chances into getting a Canadian Citizenship quicker? If anyone knows a quicker solution please let me know. Thank You In Advance.

  • Answer:

NO. Canadian citizenship flows from PARENT to CHILD. So if neither of your Parents was/is a Canadian, when YOU were born, you can't claim Canadian citizenship. Sorry. Jim B Toronto.

Nope, even if she was a current Canadian citizen its only immediate relatives that count. Thats typically spouses, brothers, sisters, and children.
