How long does it take to get a Permanent Resident Visa under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program?

Applying for Permanent Residence in Canada?

  • Hello. I am planning to apply for Permanent Resident from within Canada. I will be applying under the Student category of the Provincial Nominee program. I would like to know exactly how long it takes for an applicant to receive his Permanent Resident visa. If there is anyone who applied for Landed Immigrant visa while they were living in Canada, please tell me how long it took for you to get it. Thank you.

  • Answer:

you must complete your studies and graduate before you are eligible to apply for PR status - when you do apply for PR status - processing for PR is currently taking 2 years (possibly more) to be completed so you will need to have a work permit to stay legal. and since the process takes 4 years (of study) and at least 2 years for processing, your PASSPORT must stay legal the entire time. YES you MUST get a new PASSPORT.
