Who has been your favorite bachelor or bachelorette?

Why do some seem to think that being a Bachelor/Bachelorette is an excuse to live like a slob?

  • Why do some seem to think that being a Bachelor/Bachelorette is an excuse to live like a slob? It's just something I have noticed. Whenever I hear them say something about being a Bachelor/ette to counter their place being messy or such, all I hear is the excuse of "I have no one to clean up after me", or they blame it on their roomie. They could at least tidy up a bit before their guests/date arrives which would show care for their environment. One does not need more money to have a tidy place {I've heard that excuse too in regards to furniture when I wasn't even talking about furniture lol. You don't need money to clean up). I am a Bachelorette and my place is always tidy.

  • Answer:

Some people are naturally sloppy while others are very clean. My dad has been married for over 20 years to my mother and he is still a very messy person. I live with a roommate and I keep the place pretty spotless if I do say so myself. I hate messes.

some people are dirty some people are clean its there lives. why do you care?

you are more mature...once I had my own place I figured out how important it was for me to keep things clean and in order. Evry1 is different, some take longer to grow up!

I know, I got that with my first apartment. I think they were shocked to see my closet full of cleaning supplies when they got the new apartment tour, I know my Mom was. Also, people seemed to be surprised that I had furniture. I guess they expected a card table and fold up chairs and a futon to sleep on. One guest has a fit over a picture I had in the living room, gee it was a print of a painting, and had a house on it. It matched the sofa. It came from the locally owned furniture store. You are right, it costs nothing to straighten up, and just a rag or a washcloth will take care of dusting. One of the things I was astounded at when I was first out on my own was the cost of keeping a household. Mops, buckets, dish rags, pledge, dust rag, my goodness, even then the cost was $65 just for the chemicals and a broom and the above, never mind my top of the line Sears Powermate vacuum. I'm still a batchelorette, and I do admit I do not "keep house". I'm having the girls over Saturday for lunch, and I am having to clean everything. I would anyway, don't want them to think I am as messy as I am.

Some people are just messy/slobby. Period. A really messy bachelorette is unlikely to clean up her act just because she's getting married. She may get a little tidier because she doesn't want to get into arguments about dirty dishes, but she's still going to leave towels on the floor, etc. Every person has a different threshold for what they consider an acceptable level of tidiness around the house, and that's really hard to change.
