Should I consider the people who cant come if I get married abroad?

That depends on what's more important to you. You can get married, just the two of you, in Mexico, or you can have your family with you in UK.

It's up to you. It would be inconsiderate not to think of your family and friends, but that is one option available to you. You have to live with the consequences of whatever choice you make.

Have your wedding in Mexico. Send invitations to ALL people, but explain that you understand the distance. Then, schedule a small, more intimate wedding close to home, so that those who missed the Mexico wedding can STILL share the personal joy with you.

You have to ask yourself what your actual dream wedding includes. For me, that is my closest friends and family. Personally, I think in your case- you are being selfish planning a destination wedding that your own mother can't even attend. I would have a smaller ceremony, closer to home and honeymoon in Mexico instead. The people who love you want to share in the joy of your wedding, and they won't be able to do that if there is resentment because they can't go.

If it's important to you for the people who can't come to be at your wedding then yes. But in my opinion marriage has become too much about the production of a wedding as a show for guests and not enough about the actual union of the two people getting married so I think it's important to do what you and your fiance really want to make your day as meaningful and special for the two of YOU as it can be! That being said, maybe you could have a separate ceremony or reception back home after the fact for the people who couldn't be there for the real thing? That may help appease hurt feelings instead of just completely forgetting about the people who couldn't be there.

I would never get married at a date and place where my mom couldn't be there. I'm not saying every single guest is worth planning around, but for me, some people definitely are.

weddings are not just about the couple. they are special times for family and friends to share in the choices the couple has made. it would really be a shame for you to have a wedding without your mother present. and most brides want their sisters present as well. why not have the wedding in the uk so they can attend and go to mexico for your honeymoon. you can still have a beach wedding in the uk if that is what you want. if you do decide to have a destination wedding and do it in mexico, you can have a family reception when you get back. many couples do it like that.
