What hotel to choose?

If you were going to get married, what would you choose between a house and a hotel for the reception ?

  • My cousins got married back in 1998 and they held a wedding reception at this very old historic house in Aiken, South Carolina. The house was very nice looking but it was kind of creepy, especially if you go to the 2nd floor to go to the bathroom. So, what would you choose between a house and a hotel for your wedding reception ? I would choose the hotel.

    If I had to choose, I would go with the house especially if we can have it outdoors in a backyard (weather permitting). It's more traditional that way in my opinion.

It depends on the house and the hotel. There are lovely mansions that cater weddings and other events all the time. And ditto for some hotels. But I can't make a blanket statement that one would be better than the other. For example, you would not want to get married at the Motel 6 in Lorain, Ohio!

Depends on how large the reception is going to be. If it's going to be rather large,then I'd go with a hotel. If it's on the smaller side. Then a nice,family style reception at a home wouldn't be a bad idea. Just maybe pick one with a less creepy feel to it.

Hotel. It would be so convinent for guest and the bride and groom. You could party practically all night and drink and not worrying about driving!

Depends on $$$ I prefer homes rather than hotel receptions - but that's a person preference.
